Berbere


Berbere is a key spice mixture in Ethiopian cooking.

Keep in an airtight container and use as required.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tbsp Black Peppercorns
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon bark
  • 1 tsp Ginger (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp Ajwain (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp Cloves

Method

  • Blend all spices together to a fine powder
  • Use as specified by the recipes
